Care Instructions
FlyourFlag merchandise is made from up-cycled 925 Sterling Silver, a precious metal that will last you a lifetime with proper care.
Tarnish
It occurs when silver reacts with sulphur in the air, a natural process in everyday life. It is best to remove tarnish when it first becomes visible. This will naturally happen when it is exposed to air, the environment, perfumes, moisturisers, and perspiration. Regularly checking your items will help maintain their best life.
To ensure your jewellery remains in great condition, you might want to keep the following in
mind:
· Choose your jewellery after applying makeup, perfume, and hair products to avoid exposing them to harmful chemicals. Nobody wants a smudged or tarnished necklace, right?
· While swimming is great and showering is one of life’s many pleasures, your Sterling Silver does not share the same idea. Keep it away from water.
· Engaging in fitness activities is important for your well-being, but it's best to leave your Sterling Silver aside, especially during those sweaty spin classes!
· Vibing at the beach with your FYF piece is defo a look, but exposing your Sterling Silver to sea salt, sand, and sun cream will likely tarnish it. Protect the shine by avoiding contact to this type of environment.
Cleaning & General Tips
· Wash them in warm water with mild soap or detergent. Dry them completely using a soft, lint-free cloth before storing.
· Avoid using kitchen roll for drying, as it is not suitable. You wouldn't dry yourself with kitchen roll, would you?
· For more stubborn tarnish, try a silver polish designed specifically for Silver.
· Specialist Silver polishing cloths made of 100% cotton infused with Silver cleaners are ideal for regular cleaning. Rub the cloth over your jewellery to remove dirt, grease, and fingerprints, and enjoy the rejuvenated shine!
Precious metals deserve to be treated as their title suggests.
· Store Sterling Silver in a cool, moisture-free space between uses.
· After wearing your jewellery, give it a quick once-over with a silver polishing cloth.
· Fasten all chains to prevent tangling, especially extender chains.
· Store your jewellery separately in an airtight jewellery box, Ziplock bags, or soft pouches to avoid scratches.
· Don't discard the silica bags that come with other items; they help absorb moisture. Place a couple of them in your jewellery box.
